In the new virtual scenario for ISCAS 2020, we request you to prepare and upload a video of your presentation. This prerecorded presentation will be upfront available in Open Preview at IEEE Xplore®, as will the full papers. This will help to promote and improve the visibility of the authors' research contributions, as well as, to uplift the technical discussions on papers during the conference. For a greater user engagement and discoverability, IEEE Xplore® will integrate for the first time a video player featuring synchronized speech transcription and search capabilities.

Please note that the prerecorded presentation, together with the participation in the scheduled live session, will be considered as a replacement of your attendance at the conference and is a requirement for your paper to remain in IEEE Xplore®.

The videos in mp4 format (more details below) should preferably comprise a brief introduction with webcam, followed by voice-over slides. PowerPoint or PDF files are not valid.

In order to adhere as much as possible to the original plan, the videos for lectures and live demonstrations must not be longer than 15 minutes.

For posters, a pre-recorded pitch of 5 minutes or less is requested. The video could either use a voice-over-slide format or, if already printed, the video capturing oral talk referencing the different areas of the poster. In addition to the video, a scaled version of the poster (size DIN A4 or equivalent) should be submitted.

Our recommended approach to record a compatible video from the content displayed on your computer screen and voice recorded via the computer microphone is to record the presentation using Zoom, available to users on most platforms and in most countries. Instructions are given in:

https://ieeetv.ieee.org/mobile/video/recording-your-presentation-with-zoom

Alternatively, OBS Studio (https://obsproject.com/) is also a good option which has been already used in other IEEE conferences:

The voice-over feature of PowerPoint is another possibility but it only allows capturing slides.

A submission portal for the pre-recorded presentations is currently under development. As soon as it is available, you will receive an email with upload instructions. These instructions will be posted at the ISCAS 2020 website as well.

Video Production Guidelines

Please use the following guidelines for preparing your video. Final specifications will be checked at the time of submission and files not compliant may not be uploaded.

  • Recommended Overall Quality:
    • HD (High Definition) for talking heads and presentations (recommended)
    • SD (Standard Definition) for PowerPoint presentations without detailed graphics or talking heads
  • Recommended Encoding Settings:
    • Format: MP4
    • Compression: H.264 (AAC for Audio)
    • Resolution: Minimum height of 480 pixels
    • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
    • Frame Rate: Content should be encoded and uploaded in the same frame rate it was recorded. Common frame rates include: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, 60 fps
    • Bitrate: Variable
  • File Size:
    • 15 minutes: 150 MB or less
    • 5 minutes: 50MB or less
  • Filenaming Convention:
    • videos should be named as “ISCAS2020-XXXX.mp4” where “XXXX” is the paper identifier.
    • Scaled posters should be named as “ISCAS2020-XXXX-poster.pdf” where “XXXX” is the paper identifier. Only pdf format will be accepted.

Presentation Guidelines

Despite the format is free at each delegate discretion, the first slide has some requirements for the sake of homogeneity. Namely, as shown in the example below, the first slide is expected to incorporate the logo of IEEE Xplore® at the top left corner, since the presentations will be archived in this repository, and the logo of the conference and the CAS Society at the top right corner.
